[ASSONAT's is an association of working children and youngsters which is born in El Alto, Bolivia. The everyday life of those young people is spent between the job, the family, the school and their commitment in the association. ASSONAT’s is like a trade union that is looking for a real way to defend working youngsters’ rights without hypocricy and trying to involve directly the target of the exploitation.] Hijo Obrero is born because of an esplicit demand by young workers from ASSONAT’s. They asked for the production of a video in order to spread their experience around. First of all the documentary is a tool to make the “rich world” aware that their hard-shell position against the children labour is unacceptable because this phenomenon has largely grown thanks to the imposition of economic policies by those “rich countries”. The NAT’s movement (Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes Trabajadores) is developing since a decade in the andino’s area. They are asking to disclose this hidden grey economic working zone, children labour’s zone, in order to fix clear and effective rules not to be exploited anymore.
