Jelenetfotó 2.2The film was recorded in April and May 2006 on the building site of the Hrastje – Lešnica highway section at Novo mesto in Slovenia. It gives an insight into the lives of men working on construction sites and living in single's home. In 1958 were the Yugoslavian shock brigades building the Dolenjsko highway, called the Road of Brotherhood and Unity, in the same place. With the construction of the new highway most of the old highway was demolished and rebuilt anew. Times of shock brigades with the higher goal to bring people together are over, and today all that shock workers have in common is the struggle to survive. International low wages labor force is mostly recruiting from Bosnia, Bulgaria and Macedonia. Slovenia, once a part of the common fatherland is now a foreign country.
