Merinero Fernando

A native of Madrid, Spain and self taught in super 8mm, he subsequently earned degrees in Cinema and Performing Arts Universidad from Autónoma de Madrid and a Master’s in Screenwriting. He has worked as an actor, editor, screenwriter, cinematographer, director and producer. He has directed six feature presentations: “Los hijos del viento” (Children of the Wind), in which he played the lead role in addition to writing and directing the film. It also opened International Critic’s Week at Cannes Film Festival. “Agujetas en el alma” (Cramps of the Soul), was an award-winner at Eninci Film Festival in Burgos; “Casting” award-winner at the Álcala de Henares Film Festival; “La novia de Lázaro” (Lazaro’s Girlfriend) was awarded Best Leading Actress at the Spanish Film Festival in Málaga and Best Picture at the International Low-budget Film Festival in Gibara, Cuba. “Las huellas de Dylan” (Dylan’s Tracks), Merinero’s 2006 documentary on Bob Dylan, and “Un millón de amigos” (A Million Friends), his second “live film” (Lazaro’s Girlfriend being his first).
