Fred Hilgemann is the pseudonym chosen by two authors, Jean-Marc Cazenave & Marie-Anne Sorba. In 2006, the couple decided to work together and edit their first documentary after a trip through Brazil: Sweating in Bahia (International Panafrican Film Festival, Cannes 2007). Since 2006, their work has been focusing on French politics: L’Epreuve des urnes, shot in 2007 during the French presidential campaign, and 68 non-stop about the commemoration of the major French event of May 1968 (Sao Paulo International Film Festival, 2008). The Carnival of Kwen is their latest documentary, shot in Burkina Faso in 2006 and 2008.
