Born in Lisbon in 1977, she graduated in architecture in 2000. In 2002, she attended a Film and TV course at the European Film College, Ebeltoft, Denmark. She attended the courses in Sound, Editing, Camera operating and Lighting, as well as Animation, Documentary and Directing Actors. In 2003 she directed the short film “Brief History of Wind”, based on an experimental technique on 35mm photography. In 2004, she lived in Bombay/Mumbai, India, and worked at MTV India as production assistant for the “Promos” department. In September 2004, with the support of Kodak Portuguesa and Phat Phish Films (Mumbai) she began shooting a documentary about the city of Bombay titled “The Island Of Good Life”.
