Description of the content
The story of Alsószentmárton, a once-cosmopolitan village of 1,150 people, now inhabited entirely by Gypsies with the exception of the priest. The film shows basket weaving as the main means of subsistence, church services and hymns, the Roma language through a conversation between an old villager and his grandson, the cemetery, the activities of the Gypsies’ priest József Lankó, who also speaks about local traditional celebrations.
