Description of the content From the mid-1960s onwards, thousands of hippies from the West moved to India in search of an alternative lifestyle, spiritual enlightenment and drug experimentation. Most returned after a few months or years, some stayed for good. The Italian Cesare, for example, a cave-dwelling Yogi, still striving for spiritual liberation; Hanspeter from Switzerland runs a small farm in the Himalayas, but judging by the hash pipe permanently wedged between his teeth, he is no traditionalist. The South African twins sew hippie clothes for both the old and new generation of Goa freaks. „Hippie Masala“ portrays flower children who fled from Western civilisation, and have come of age and found a new home in India.
